Our Story

From humble beginnings to global humanitarian impact

The Daddy Ndong International Humanitarian Foundation (DANIHF), founded by Cameroonian born US Citizen Ndong Elias-Ivor Wright; is a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to humanitarian and philanthropic efforts. DANIHF was created in 2016 just immediately after the outbreak of the sociopolitical crisis in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon. During the early days of the sociopolitical tensions, there was need for humanitarian intervention as many of our parents, brothers, sisters, children and friends ran their homes and took refuge in the bushes mostly in the interiors of some villages. The Founder as a Journalist then in Buea South West Region of Cameroon, with the little he had as salary at the time sacrificed it to constantly wave aside the the insecurities around those villages and will visit the bushes around kwakwa, Teke, Miamu, Muyuka, Ekona, etc to offer them some basics like toiletries foodstuffs and health care assistance just to assure them that they haven't been abandoned in the bushes.

In 2018, the founder left Cameroon in the heat of the crises and took up residence in the USA. From here he kept on sending volunteers with some to go see how those in the buses were faring. The Founder Ndong Elias-Ivor eventually send these volunteers with some financial assistance to them. In 2020, he visited home and discovered that most of those who where in the bushes had relocated back to their villages or had taken residence in other towns thereby becoming IDPs and he was very happy to noticed that but the suffering was far from over as they met with different challenges. He met with some few individuals and hatched the idea of creating a humanitarian organization to cater more on our people who have become so vulnerable because of the Coronavirus pandemic at the time and the ongoing conflict that was ravaging souls in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon with many displaced without food nor shelter.

Upon arrival back to the USA from Cameroon after a brief visit again on some towns affected by the ongoing sociopolitical crisis in the North and South West Regions and seeing the urgent need to come to the aids of the those innocent masses affected by the crisis, he gave instructions for the legalization of the Organization which became known as the Daddy Ndong International Humanitarian Foundation (DANIHF). The Daddy Ndong International Humanitarian Foundation (DANIHF) thus became a Cameroonian non-profit making, non-sectarian and apolitical Organization founded in 2016 by Mr Ndong Elias-Ivor Wright (then a Journalist working in Buea; South West Region of Cameroon) and officially recognized on September 24, 2020, as a non-profit NGO by Law No: 90/053 of 12/19/1990 governing Associations in Cameroon with authorization No: 1117G37C84 Vol. 1/SASC of September 24, 2020 with Headquarters in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon and at the moment have branches in the USA, France, Nigeria, Togo, Zambia, and in Cameroon; DANIHF is blessed with 4 Regional Offices based in the South West, North West, Littoral and Centre Regions with Regional Coordinators as Heads with the tasks of identifying where there are dare needs of humanitarian assistance and implementing the goals and objectives of DANIHF. While in Buea, there's a well structured Executive Board that coordinates the activities of DANIHF.

Making a difference in communities across Cameroon and beyond

The Organization has already been able to meet up with a lot of expectations from the Less Privileged, Widows, Internally Displaced Persons, students and pupils, etc in Cameroon, Togo and Nigeria. DANIHF already visited the Mountain Kids Orphanage in Bongwango Buea Cameroon during the celebration of the birthday of their Founder/CEO last September 24, 2020. During the celebrations, the Foundation donated food items, toiletries, and educational materials to the children.

DANIHF's activities extend across multiple regions, providing humanitarian assistance to those affected by the sociopolitical crisis in Cameroon. Our interventions include:

  • Distribution of food items and basic necessities to IDPs and vulnerable families
  • Provision of educational support including school fees, uniforms, and learning materials
  • Healthcare assistance through medical outreach programs and medication distribution
  • Skills training programs for single mothers and young women
  • Construction of essential infrastructure like toilets and sanitation facilities

President's Message

A reflection on our five-year journey of changing lives

DANIHF At 5

Life Changing Journey

September 24, 2025, marks Daddy Ndong International Humanitarian Foundation (DANIHF) five years. It is a journey which started with some youths brainstorming on how to give back to their community. They had looked back at their difficult childhood upbringing where affording school fees, uniforms, exercise books, text books, school bags, pens, pencils among others were extremely difficult. Some were sick but lacked the basic means to procure medical services. Despite all these difficulties, they grew up and became very successful persons in the society. Under the auspices of Mr Ndong Elias-Ivor Wright (Daddy Ndong), they decided to form a think-tank, an assisting mission. This later gave birth to Daddy Ndong International Humanitarian Foundation whose authorization to function was given by the Senior Divisional Officer for Fako Division on September 24, 2020.

That is when the real journey of changing lives officially started, But before this period, these young men and women, mostly from journalism background, had been putting resources together and responding to humanitarian needs in their communities. When DANIHF kicked off, the global pandemic, COVID 19 was hovering over the world with threats of ending lives. DANIHF responded immediately and accordingly with aid. In Buea, Bamenda, Douala and Yaounde, it combed major streets where it distributed over 10 000 face masks and 7 000 bottles of sanitizers. The institution equally visited several schools such as Bilingual Grammar School Molyko Buea, Summerset Bilingual High School Molyko Buea, and University of Buea among others where it preached on the safety measures against COVID 19 and equally shared facemasks and sanitizers to the learners.

Some young girls in their 20s were sponsored in hairdressing, manicure and pedicure. The training in Yaounde which lasted for some months ended with a graduation ceremony. The laureates were given essentials that could permit them begin applying their trade. The women thanked the Executive Director of DANIHF, Daddy Ndong, for giving them life.

DANIHF is seeing several learners through schools in Buea, Douala, Yaoundé and Bamenda. Again, DANIHF came to the rescue of pupils in the Integrated Islamic Development Association Nursery and Primary School in Tabang of Bamenda III municipality. These young Cameroonians had been without a toilet in their school. DANIHF stepped in and constructed four modern toilets for them. On the reception date, sanitation kits for girls, didactic materials among others were handed to learners. This toilet improved tremendously on the sanitation of the school.

DANIHF's services to mankind and community engagement are countless because DANIHF's mission to give dignity to life has gone beyond tribes, religion, region and country. It is to serve humanity irrespective of sex, nationality and colour. In Cameroon, DANIHF is having a remarkable presence in five regions of the 10: North West, South West, Littoral, Centre and East Regions. Our presence is equally felt in South and North America, and Europe.

As we continue this journey of improving lives, we wish to thank all who have contributed in some way or the other to make our mission better. Special thanks to our team of dedicated staff and volunteers. Happy 5th anniversary, DANIHF.
